Time to get going in the Fast Running Blog community. At the Canyon View JV meet, no race for me today. We ran 40 minutes with 4X60 second fartleks. Not the best ones cause my legs are a little sore from the Kosmin workout yesterday. Just super pumped for Herriman on Friday!!!

Math Problem of the Day:

If Definition Dallen runs his 60 second fartleks at a steady 4:00 1600 pace, then how many meters will he have run in 3 of these fartleks? Comment your answer!

1200 meters!!!

Am: Easy twenty minute morning run. Me, Cam, and Preston were like thirty seconds late so we were behind the pack for a lil while.

Pm: Thirty minutes with striders. Easy day after the workouts this week and nice and simple before we helped out with the Youngsters' meet. I'm just so stoked for Herriman!!!

Math Problem of the Day: Alli Peterson spends 30 minutes a night looking at Connor Baller's blog posts. If she does this for 57 days straight before she moves on, how many minutes will she have accumulated reading his posts.

1710 minutes. Best math problem I've ever seen.

That is not allowed on the FRB. You will incur the wrath of many for messing up the mileage board.

From Tanner Nelson on Wed, Apr 29, 2015 at 21:08:43 from 98.202.168.94

Or we could integrate f(x)=57, with respect to x, on the interval x=0 to x=30. Or just do 30 X 57.

Don't blog minutes. The mileage board people will hate you.

From Hell Raiser on Wed, Apr 29, 2015 at 21:13:13 from 174.19.41.93

Oh yeah. On coach murphys comment, you better not do that

Is this real life situation

From Hell Raiser on Wed, Apr 29, 2015 at 21:42:36 from 174.19.41.93

Yah, pretty much

Convert your minutes to furlongs. That way it's still a unit of distance so 100% fair in my opinion.

From Math Addict Mitch on Thu, Apr 30, 2015 at 07:43:22 from 204.113.54.0

I changed minutes to miles!

Am: 2.8 miles just nice and relaxing. Feeling good and ready for Herriman. 20 min

Pm: Swag shoe run. We left a water bottle/cooler and a bag of sweet chili sunflower seeds on the Ellsworths' doorstep. 5.3 miles, with some 30 second fartleks with a minute recovery between each one. 4 of these fartleks. 45 minutes total.

Math Problem of the Day: It is 287 miles from Pine View High School to Herriman High School. If the bus taking Pine View's athletes hypothetically travels at a constant speed of 65 mph, with a 30 minute break in Nephi, Utah for food and restrooms, what time will the bus reach Herriman High School if it leave Pine View High School at exactly 8:00 am?

Am: Another 20 minutes in the morning. We had a sweet talk about Knights Templars and Secret Societies. Race day

Pm: 3200 m race at Herriman Invite. I didn't do that great. I don't know my official time yet but I know it wasn't close to my goal. The last 800 was decent, but the rest could've been better. I just need to learn from it and come out with a positive attitude. I had some good passes.

Math Problem of the Day: Alex The Lion is the closest to qualifying in the 3200 for Pine View right now. If he ran a 9:59.52 and state qualifying time is 9:59.14, how much faster per lap must he run to qualify?

Add an option b with Paul's .06 off in the 800. That one is easier for me because it is only 2 laps.

Am: 50 minute run from the hotel with my bros. We went down into this tiny gorge in Sandy and found a dope rope swing in a tree. No one broke a leg.

Math Problem of the Day: Desert Hills' Track team decides to go shopping. They only brought one debit card with $100,000 on it. If they buy a car for $34,000, some new collared shirts to run in for $370, a sick gold chain for $245, and some new running shoes for the most of the team for $1,250, how much money will they have left on the debit card?

Am: Another easy morning with just 20 min and 2.8 miles. I forgot to post yesterday.. Such a rookie move

Pm: 25 minutes with 4x200's after. That's definitely the shortest afternoon run we've had in a long time. But it was nice to just get back in time for the last youngsters' meet we were holding. Although, I had to leave early once again. Nice day, and I'm looking forward to Region this week. I'll be racing 3200 varsity. Last chance to qualify for state.

Math Problem of the Day: It is Zach Crowell's birthday and he's a good friend of mine. So, if he turned 17, and receieved 17 birthday spanks today, as well as 16 last year, 15 the year before, 14 the year before that, etc.... How many birthday spanks has he received in his life, if he gets the same number of spanks as the age he is turning every year?

So, I missed blogging the two days of Region. It was pretty dope. I did the normal 20 minute morning runs and thirty on both days. On Thursday however, I had a race. It was my last one of the year. I raced the 3200 meter trying one more time to qualify. It was definitely an improvement from lately, but the fifth and sixth lap killed it for me. I finished in 10:16. I never got back to the 10:07 I ran at Pine View Invite, but I know I'll qualify next year without a doubt. But after my race my knee really started to bug me. It hurt even worse on Friday, so I just tried to do a tiny 15 minute run. It hurt too much so I stopped at about 13 minutes. I've been doing what I can to recover and rest it, and it's feeling slightly better. I might try a tiny jog again on Tuesday or Wednesday if it's healing.

Math Problem of the Day: I have a state test for electronics tomorrow. If there are 60 questions and I must get 80% to pass, how many questions must I get right?

Is there for real 60 questions???? I thought there was only 40!

From Holt on Sun, May 10, 2015 at 20:32:11 from 67.2.226.123

If ap thought there was only 40 questions, how many of those would she have to get right to get the 80% required on the 60 ? Test? And you did have a great year! More great things to come to sho! But, might as well let that knee heal up for a while now.

After school I decided to try going for another run because I thought my knee was getting better. I was wrong. By the end of one mile it KILLED. So, I'm waiting til June to start up again. Expect me to be absent from the blog til then. I swam around Samburgs for a little while to get some excersice in that wouldn't kill my knee. Might have to do some Aqua jogging :)

Math Problem of the Day: Summer practice for cross country starts on June 1 at 7:00 am. This Monday will be two weeks exactly til the day we start. How many hours will it be til summer practice starts in those two weeks? (Monday, May 18 @7:00 am - Monday, June 1 @7:00 am

I'm back. It's been too long. Oh well. Today's run was pretty great. We went up to Mustang Pass. Super hot and dry. The trail felt a little harder than usual but I just kept a positive attitude about it. Our strong finish at the end left me a little bit behind the pack cause I was exhausted. At least my knee pain is like 99% gone. I need to drink more water during the days. We had striders after the run, and we usually do them on shorter days, which is what I prefer. Although, it was nice to practice working on our form when we were tired.

Math Problem of the Day: If the Warbeast ate 17 coconuts, 23 pineapples, 46 bananas, 10 kiwis, and 39 mangos in Hawaii, what is the total number of fruits he ate?
